The opening session kicked off with a welcome from our fearless leader Chris Wienandt and from Anders Gyllenhaal , editor of the Miami Herald. We got to see all the winning headlines from our national headline contest, got to meet the new executive board members, and got a lot of good information from ...um.... VP for Conferences Deirdre Edgar. This year's scholarship winners are an impressive lot. As Chris wrapped things up from the stage, I could hear Kay Jarvis of the Denver Post chanting "Coffee, coffee," under her breath. So it was good timing.
The merchandise table is well-stocked; be sure and stop by and buy a pin, a pen and a beach towel to take home as a souvenir of Miami!
